About the Chef

Chef JP is first and foremost a Chef, driven to bring Filipino food to the global stage. But all of that began when he took up culinary in the Center for Culinary Arts in Manila, Philippines and later on in the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in Sydney, Australia. He eventually opened numerous restaurants in the Philippines and represented the country in the world renowned food congress, the San Sebastián Gastronomika in 2019. Today, he spends most of his time in Dubai where he just opened his new restaurant in The Marina, Kooya Filipino Eatery and goes back to the Philippines to take on numerous projects from time to time.

Though most people know Chef JP Anglo as the Filipino-Ilonggo Chef behind Sarsa Restaurant, there are also a different side to JP. His passions include traveling to different destinations to cook with the locals in the area, surfing the different beaches around the world, driving and reviewing different types of vehicles and automotive brands, teaching and sharing his knowledge of Filipino cooking and cuisine anybody who has the yearning to learn, driving to around the country in search for unassuming hole-in-the-wall eateries that make such soulful food and quite recently, camping and golf as well.Chef JP's excitement stems from food and cooking, particularly Filipino food. It is something that he hopes to one day share to the rest of the world and to continue to push forward.
